Hi everyone! I’m back with a new post, this time about my study room! It's always been my absolute dream to have a full wall of shelves to display my precious book collection. As I also work largely from home, I wanted it to be a conducive place for me to work as well. This was the original interior before the renovation. It was used as a kid's bedroom by the previous owners. I decided to knock down the wall between the living area and this room to create a more open and airy feel. For those times when I need to focus on work or have guests over, I installed custom wood-framed fluted glass sliding doors. They add a touch of privacy while still letting light flow between the spaces. When I’m not working, I usually keep the doors open to make the living area feel bigger! In front of the window is the desk area. Though my IDs suggested I could create a custom desk, I chose to have ready-made ones to make the space easier to reconfigure in the future if I wanted to change things up! I love IKEA desks! They're so versatile with their customisations and the designs definitely fit right in with my wood-themed home. On the other side of the room, I've kept things pretty flexible for now. With Christmas just around the corner, it's the perfect spot for my tree! I haven't quite figured out what to do with the walls yet. Maybe a full wall of vinyl records? We'll see! And finally, the highlight of my room and a decade-long dream: my library! Inspired by some amazing home content creators online, I decided to use the wall-mounted BOAXEL shelving unit (usually used for clothes storage) to house all my books! I love that it's mounted with rails that let me adjust the position of the shelves whenever I want. It's so flexible! Below the shelves, I used IKEA's customizable BESTA cabinets to complete the look of this side of the wall. I recently got into vinyl records and this was the perfect spot for my turntable. I can't wait to build up my collection! On either side of my turntable, I placed little knick-knacks, mementos, and photos from my life. It's great to have these things in a prominent spot in my home! These things remind me of how far I have come, and how much I can still look forward to! I also find myself constantly readjusting things here, depending on my mood and inspiration! It's an ever-evolving space for me. That’s all for my cosy study room tour! Would you feel like working in a space in like this too? If you like what you see or have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be happy to answer them! Until the next part of my house tour, see ya!
