5 years in an HDB: the ugly truth. 🙃
The Bad: Dead smart devices, broken fixtures, and the absolute worst mistake? A metal mesh gate on a corridor unit.
Between the monthly town council washdowns and the humidity, it’s just a rusty, impossible-to-clean hazard. Save your fingers and your sanity—skip the mesh. 🛑
Now for the good stuff that actually survived 5 years. 🙌
My Ninja Grill is the undisputed MVP. I’m ready to throw my money at an upgrade, but Shark/Ninja Singapore is gatekeeping the full lineup from us. Why do you do this to us? 😭
Also, shoutout to my Breville coffee machine. The daily grind, the press, the obsessive tuning of the taste profile... it's not just coffee, it's cheaper than actual therapy.
The Best Part: The kitchen island. It’s the literal centerpiece of the home. You can be cooking, eating, or watching TV, and everyone is just there interacting in one open space.
At the end of the day, I still love this place. The island remains the heart of every gathering, and the living room just hits different at 2am with the Sonos playing lo-fi. 🎶✨
The Plot Twist: Things I definitely didn’t anticipate.
Like how I somehow ended up owning three robot vacuums... and two of them went RIP within two years. 🪦 Meanwhile, the Dyson fan—which everyone loves to hate on—actually stood the test of time and is still running strong. Go figure. 🤷♂️
