This post is for the coffee gear nerds, you know who you are. As you know by now from the previous post, the machine that we are currently using is the Rocket Appartamento TCA, a heat exchanger which has a PID to allow for better control over temperature ✅ 
Accompanying this machine is the Fellow Opus Grinder, an entry-level grinder which we use for our espresso as well as our pour-overs. ☕️ Of course I’m sure some will say that you should get a better grinder than an espresso machine but for us, we didn’t know we would get one so in hindsight, really bad planning 🙃. However, this has been serving us well for the past 1.5 years and is still going strong! 
Next comes the puck prep accessories! We have the Timemore Basic Scale 2.0 for weighing out our doses, grinds, and extractions. To achieve better distribution, the MHW3-BOMBER Lightning WDT spreads and mixes the grinds and is used together with the MHW3-BOMBER distributor for an even surface. Then the MHW3-BOMBER 3 spring tamper is used to create a level plane and compression of the grinds so that we are ready for extraction! 👍🏼 Moving on to extraction, a puck screen is used for better water distribution (also to make the cleaning of the group head easier) to extract our coffee evenly from the 58mm MHW3-BOMBER Astral series bottomless portafilter. 
This concludes the tour of our machine and accessories, which might be overwhelming for those who are interested in coffee, but if there’s one thing we’ve learnt; Coffee is a long journey. ☕️ There’s no rush to buy everything as there’s a lot to learn!
