render vs reality! did you know we’ve spent $200 (1050rmb) on 3d renders & elevation design and received it in 3 days?!!
yessss this is a self-designed home! BUT, i had doubts to simply just translate the idea in my mind into reality without seeing it on paper first.
we also know exactly what we wanted and getting a ID would be an overkill.. so it prompted me to look for 3d rendering services on fiverr or carousell and i couldn’t find anything suitable.. that’s until i chanced upon this 3d rendering firm on xiao hong shu and i went along with it!!!
some corners, i was very thorough in giving detailed instructions but some corners i just let the designer had their way (as the inspiration hasn’t hit me yet and ik i’d later put it together in the middle of renovation journey)
i’d say we’re happy!!! and the fact that they had no limit to change requests at all?! we only asked for 2 changes given that we just wanna see if the idea in our mind works.
altho!! i’d say this is not for everyone, a list of questions to ask yourself if you’re planning to try this approach:
1) are you comfortable to converse in mandarin? (they are a chinese firm so of course only mandarin!)
2) are you comfortable that most discussions take place via wechat and via texts? (i personally love that we don’t have to speak over the phone)
3) are you comfortable making payment via wechat?
4) are you a decisive person? (this approach requires you to decide quickly & know what you want exactly, if you need hand holding in the design, then this is not for you)
5) are you comfortable with them reaching out actively or aggressively? (believed they have a tight timeline and KPIs to hit - great bc i received this in 3 days but this also means they require fast responses from you)
comment ‘3D’ for the contact of this 3d rendering firm!
