2 Years Later, These 5 Reno Decisions Still Make Us Grateful
12485
It’s been over two years since we moved into our home, and while we’ve continued to grow and change as a family, there are a few renovation decisions that continue to serve us beautifully every single day. If you're planning your own reno or just love peeking into what works in real homes, here are 5 choices we still absolutely love: 1. USB Sockets at Our Cozy Corner One small but mighty decision: built-in USB sockets at our little cozy corner! It's now our go-to charging hub for everything — e-reader, portable fan, lamp, doorbell, and more. If you didn’t install USB sockets during reno, don't worry, there are plenty of plug-in options available on Shopee/lazada that work just as well. But if you're in the midst of electrical planning, this is one detail that has brought us so much daily convenience. Highly recommend. 2. Co-Sleeping Bed = Restful Sleep Probably my all-time favourite reno decision — our custom large co-sleeping bed. It means no more squeezing at bedtime and better rest for everyone. There's room for pillows, plush toys, and a whole lot of cuddles. We’ve never looked back. 3. Hidden Pocket Door for the Bathroom We opted for a pocket door for the master bathroom, and it’s one of the smartest space-saving features in our home. Our bathroom is on the smaller side, so not having a door that swings in or out really helps. It’s especially practical since our daughter uses this bathroom — we’ve managed to fit in her potty and bathtub too, without any door-space issues. Compact but functional! 5. TV Feature Wall with Hidden Storage Let’s be honest — not everything we own looks pretty on display. That’s where our TV feature wall with built-in storage comes in. It helps us keep things tidy without cluttering up the living area. While we try to stay mindful of what we bring into our home, this built-in solution enables us to fully maximise space from floor to ceiling — a great way to house essential items neatly, without feeling like we’re cramming things in. We’ll be sharing more on our kitchen hits and misses soon, so stay tuned if you're planning your own practical family-friendly reno. Stay connected through our Instagram/Tiktok @rachieehome :)
