After 2 renovations, here’s everything I wish I knew about choosing the right interior designer & contractor! 
Step 1: Shortlist • Word of mouth, Google reviews, and meeting them in person to check chemistry! Especially if you are going to work with this person for a period of time Step 2: First Meeting • Look for value-add to your ideas, punctuality, good listening skills, and balance between practicality & aesthetics Step 3: Quote Comparison • Compare by category & unit pricing • Check materials & finishes (wood grade, trims, laminates) • Review hardware brands (Blum vs others) • Watch for hidden costs like ceiling height, missing items such as floor skirting, or cleaning
