I once read that the average person spends around 182 hours a year in the toilet (hahaha, someone please fact check). So for us, it was important that our bathrooms are clean, accessible, and easy to manage.
Cost breakdown for our common toilet:
For our common toilet, we decided to keep the wall tiles and overlaid our floor, whereas our master bath bathroom got a complete makeover. We kept the carpentry minimal — just enough to store our essentials (makeup remover, listerine, miscellaneous barangs) and topped it with a cute bowl-shaped basin.
One thing we knew from the start: no recessed niches. As pretty as they can look, they eat into our already small bathrooms. Instead, we installed slim wall latches which is perfect for keeping shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash within easy reach. We even added another latch in the master beside the basin to hold daily-use items like shavers, gel, facial wash, and whatever else we tend to grab first thing in the morning.
