If you asked me what’s one of my favourite parts of the house, I’d say it’s our entryway.
It was one of the areas of our home that jumped out at me in the initial render from our ID, and we still fall in love with it every single day.
Over time, we love how this seamless ceiling-to-floor carpentry, together with the curved mirror, grew to become a quiet introduction to the rest of our home.
The niche gives us space for a pop of character against the sea of neutral tones. We switch it up a little whenever we find new trinkets that catch our attention.
We’d still prefer it to look minimal, hence we try our best to avoid cluttering it with knick knacks.
Right beside the carpentry at the entryway, you’ll find the curved mirror – strategically placed for those final fit checks before leaving home, yet bold enough as a feature on its own.
If you look closely, there’s a button that’s seamlessly integrated into the mirror that switches on the lights lined around the edges.
And here it is with the light on.
To be honest, the light serves no purpose on a day-to-day basis and only makes its appearance during house tours to wow guests. Very extra, but it was only a small top up for this function.
All of the shelves in our entryway carpentry come with AA tracks – our ID threw them in for free, but if yours doesn’t, it’s worth adding on just to give you more freedom in terms of customising the height of the shelves.
