A typical answer, but our cosy space is the living room. When we are not working, we actually spend most of our time in the kitchen whipping up homecooked meals anytime. The living room is where we wind down for the day, catching up on shows together.
As we had the piano in the living room, we could only opt for a 2-seater sofa. Though its 2 seater, its on the larger side with a length of 190cm. We went to many places to test out the sofas. Lost count of the number of times we walked into Harvey Norman to sit on the sofas, we fancied one there which cost $3,000, but couldn’t bring ourselves to pay that price. We eventually chanced upon this one at V Haus Living in JB.
View from our sofa, I like that we can look over and spot the items on our display shelves! Wanted to have some travertine elements in our home to give the home a slight wabi sabi finish, so opted for this TV console with a travertine top. This was also one of the furniture items that we took a long time to decide on.
We recently got the MUJI cooling blanket, and are intending to use it as a sofa throw when guests come over. We got the stool from Taobao which comes in a set of two that can be stacked to look like a table. It is dual purpose - a stool and a side table! Glad that the brown matches with the other woods tones in our home.
Our ID suggested this shelving area as an added design element. While we initially didn’t see much purpose in it as we didn’t have much to display, we’ve now started putting up some items we’ve gotten from our travels.
Will share more about our furniture and places we visited in JB in a separate post!
