Our kitchen has evolved a lot since we took this picture.
The 4 products listed in this pictures are our staples.
1. Fridge - we selected this Mitsubishi fridge specifically because of its isolated compartments. Fish in freezer will not make your ice taste like fish any more! While it looks rather small, it is very spacious inside and we are able to customise the shelves according to our needs!
2. Line8 power track - we cannot commit how many appliances we want to have on this countertop. We are blessed with a 4.5m long kitchen and plenty of counter top space so we did not want to limit ourselves with a few powerpoint plugs at fixed locations! This power track has been so helpful and we can customise the number of powerplugs we want!
3. Mayer hood and hob - A tag team duo. No regrets selecting an induction hybrid hob. We have the freedom to decide whether we want to use induction or radiation to cook! I don't have a strong opinion but induction is faster and radiation (according to the husband) allows the food to taste as if it was cooked by fire. Please try it out and confirm for me!
In my parent's house we were already using water dispenser but this Happie water dispenser was a game changer with its faster water flow, daily sterilisation and great customer service.
Yearly, Happie will contact us to remind us it is time to change our filter - even better, they will come down to change it for us + service the unit and check if everything is well.
On top of that, they actually cleaned the whole unit for us - I am sold. for life.
Beside our fridge we have a multi-purpose oven which can bake, grill, steam and also microwave.
We found this so helpful and we love the steaming function the most! Imagine wanting to heat up some dimsum but too lazy to take out the pots!
On the right side of the fridge we hid a small fan. Since we still have the space, this fan is often used for ventilation in our kitchen especially when prepping for food and cooking!
Also known as "the best airfryer". This glass air fryer from Mayer is popular because of its transparent glass basket.
Without any non-stick coating, we are assured that food cooked in the air fryer is safe in the long run for our consumption and it is easy to clean!
Our rice cooker is from Philips and we bought this because the person at Harvey Norman convinced us this is the best one (within reasonable price).
Rice cooked here is fluffy and well cooked - there are 4 different rice settings you can select! So you can choose your rice being al Dante or softer depending on your preference.
On top of that, there are many many other functions and my next most used is actually the congee function. Thick and flavourful congee comes out no matter what ingredients I throw in, that's also a win for us!
Special mention to our most favourite soy sauce.
Buy it.
We compared with Kikkoman and there's no case to fight.
Buy it.
It's worth it.
Are there any must haves in your kitchen you would like to share?
its the most fragrant and delicious soy sauce we have ever tasted and we have stuck to this ever since.
