Yes you read the title right! We bought a 3D printer to print various things for our home.
What spurs the purchase? Was it an impulse purchase?
Well, we got our 3D printer from Bambu labs on sale and we have been seeing so many instagram and tiktok post on 3D printing solutions for homes! So why not get a new toy to play with?
This is the Bambu lab A1 mini. It is an entry level 3D printer, during sale, it cost us around $199 USD. :)
We also bought the automatic material system (AMS) that can house up to 4 different colored filaments, so that we can print items with multiple colors at the same time.
If this is something that interest you, the link to the printer, accessories and all the filaments are here: https://asia.store.bambulab.com/products/ams-lite?from=navigation
Showcasing some of our 3D prints. Coming in first is this kumiko lamp! It took 16 hours to print due to the complexity of the design, plus there are several components to individually print and assemble.
However, no regrets at all because it turned out great and add such a vibe to our TV console! Makes the area look super warm and cosy that I keep dozing off! Can't even finish a full movie without falling asleep.
Adding some more brownie points for the fact that it turns out pretty nice on photos too!
This is how it looks like when we printed the components of the lab.
This alone took around 7 hours... what we did was start the print at night, then go to sleep and wake up the next day to check on the prints.
We also printed some chinese characters and pasted it on our main door.
"Chu ru ping an" (出入平安) is a Chinese phrase that translates to "May you be safe wherever you go" or "Peace in your coming and going".
We thought it is very meaningful, and serve as a blessing that we will always leave and return to this sanctuary safely. :)
Lastly, we also printed a tray! There are many printing templates that we don't even need to actually get down and dirty to design it ourselves. We use an application called 'Makerlab' which connects to the printer directly and also where many creators worldwide can upload their templates for like-minded folks to download and print.
This tray is exclusively printed for my favourite reed diffuser from Pristine! The name of the scent is Japanese Ryokan, in line with the theme of my house, which is cosy japandi.
That's all from us today. If you stayed till the end, we are very grateful! As usual, do leave your comments and questions if you have any and we will be happy to answer and reply to all of you!
