Hi again! Today we’re sharing the know-how behind our corridor.
This one was actually inspired by my husband — he had this vision of turning our plain corridor into something more meaningful. Instead of just being a walkway, he imagined it as a mini gallery — almost like a little museum at home.
We kept the design clean and intentional. Most of the wall is clad in laminate, giving it a sleek, seamless look — and yes, we even integrated a hidden hinge door into the cladding so the entire wall stays visually uninterrupted.
To elevate the mood, we added hidden/ cove lighting on the panel and since he likes things bright (maybe a little too bright 😅), we ended up with a corridor that’s just a tad more illuminated than I expected. Oh well! It still works and definitely makes the photos pop like they’re in a real gallery.
Since I personally prefer the soft focus of spotlights, we decided to keep the original spotlights from the previous owner. It was the perfect compromise.
For now, he connected the lighting to a Philips motion sensor — so it only comes on at night, when everything’s dark, and someone’s walking down to the toilet. Pretty smart actually! We’ll probably explore more options with the sensor setup in the future.

One thing you’ll always notice is that our master bedroom door is usually left open — and that was intentional.
We designed it so that the view into the room adds character to the hallway. With open shelves with a few curated pieces and soft lighting — so at night, it acts like a gentle accent feature that draws your eyes in.
The paneling design we keep it clean and minimal, and used the wall space to display some of his personal photo collection — shots that carry memories, stories, or just beautiful moments he's captured over the years.
And for the bathroom door, we added a soft-closing mechanism — not only does it close gently and quietly (especially useful at night), but it also acts as a built-in door stopper, keeping things clean and fuss-free.
✨ Hopefully this gives you a little inspiration on how you can turn even the most a corridor into something personal and meaningful.
