Revealing our second-level corridor and entryway!
This area has quickly become one of our favorite spots in the house. It truly captures the vibe we wanted - dark, minimalist, yet cozy.
The highlight of this space has to be the windows. From the very beginning, we were determined to open up the walls on both sides of the bedrooms to allow for better ventilation and natural light. We’re thrilled with how seamlessly everything came together during the renovation, and we’re so pleased with the end result.
For the windows, we opted for blinds to maintain the minimalist aesthetic. It was a happy coincidence that they perfectly complement the design of the railings, tying the whole look together effortlessly.
Different angle to show how the windows look like opposite to each other.
Chose 2 spot lights for our stairways.
Not only it looks aesthetically pleasing but it is bright enough to lit up the entire stairway at night.
If you look closely, we have also installed a pet door in the bottom middle of each bedroom door.
We bought the pet door off shopee and got the door vendor to integrate the pet flap into the door.
We were concerned about our senior dog not knowing how to use it at first but within a week he has already learned the ropes and was walking in and out with no issues!
We chose matte black laminates and black louvre doors to align with our theme. Initially, we were concerned the space might feel too dark, but we added plenty of spotlighting, which effectively brightened the area while still maintaining that moody, cosy ambience we were aiming for.
