Minimalist HDB (BTO)~1,200 sqft 3 br Couple Living

Welcome to ourseethome! Our place is a 5-room BTO located in Bidadari, and we moved in around October 2024. We don’t really have a reno theme, but we really loved the idea of embracing the spaciousness that a 5-room flat could give. In line with the theme of ‘spaciousness’, we have a fully open-concept kitchen. This is also in line with our lifestyle as we seldom cook. The island/dining table was custom-made by our skilful carpenters.
We were really lucky that our unit has a squarish layout, which allowed us to maximise the use of the space.
We made minimal changes to the original layout of the flat. No walls were erected, and we only hacked one wall between the kitchen and service yard, so that it became one large, seamless space.
We kept our feature wall simple by using the same dark brown laminate throughout the house. It even matches the shade of wood on our sofa!
We wanted our home to be cosy and inviting - a place where we could wind down after a long day of work. Therefore, we installed only warm lighting throughout the house, which creates a relaxing atmosphere once we get home from work.
This island/dining table is definitely the ‘centrepiece’ of our home, and is where we spend the most time whenever we host friends and family.
