After finding out how easy it is to cook steak at home, we almost rarely eat at steakhouses anymore.
Here are my TO GO beef suppliers and easy recipe ideas
1. Beefandbeyond
A pop up that we first started noticing all the way when they started in ang mo kio.. we went crazy the last run when they were at princep.. and walked away with over $200 wortb of beef
2. Foodie Market (katong branch)
Great cuts at great prices. We went here and got a lovely wagyu at $60. (A STEAL)
3. Takashimaya cold storage
Popped over by chance and saw A5 wagyu at 50% off. Of course i bought two back..
Needed two baskets for our beef haul, but it was totally worth it!
Steak grill
You can also cut it then grill for eash bite sized pieces. We were having an putdoor grill party with friends so we just went w the easy kbbq way
Honestly 10/10 the beef only needed salt and pepper and its leftover oils were the umami we needed to fry our mushrooms
I think we did 45 secs on each side to achieve this medium well doneness!
Just pan fry.
This was a thicker cut of beef. I think we just randomly nabbed this off cold storage beef section.
A thicker cut usually requires more seasoning for the flavor to cut thru the meat. It was an easy meal but it could be elevated with some sides or pasta!
Pan fried steak (lvl 2)
Splurged on a lovely dinner at burnt ends on a random weekeday, walked away with the knowledge that Maitake mushrooms existed
I’ll go so far as to say, they’ve become a staple whenever we eat steak.
Beef stew
Bery french, but soup on a cool night is so underrated!
December is the perfect weather for this. We used beef rump to do this, low heat to keep the meat juicy and soft
