We are glad to have a South East facing unit which allows us to enjoy the morning sun.

I love the shadows cast by our venetian blinds and will open them in the morning to let some sunlight into our bedroom.
Typically, we'd avoid using the ceiling light at night as it is too harsh. Diffused lighting is much preferred as it creates an ambiance more suitable for winding down.
The head of this table lamp can be adjusted to face downwards when necessary, though we have hardly found any need to.
The warm light from our low-hanging pendant lamp is my favourite :)
