Before and After: Transforming House to Home

Welcome to our home, where the kitchen is the heart of the home. 
The hdb provided finishes were objectively not too bad, but we wanted something more warm and homely, so we covered the tiled walls with carpentry and a quartz of choice. We however, kept the hdb-provided tiles 
The living room highlight is this TV feature wall with textured paint. We built it up to conceal the uneven walls and niche that came with the original layout. By doing so, we also concealed our tv wiring. We also added a door to the corridor separate the bedrooms from the living room spaces. 
While most people opt for open kitchen these days, we wanted a closed kitchen concept so that we could keep the smells from the kitchen contained. We built up this wall with an archway 
Here we added a window to separate kitchen and living for a breakfast bar. We also designed a portal to frame the entryway 
To create a sense of arrival, we color drenched the entryway with a dark paint so as to give a dramatic effect
