we spent the most time discussing the layout and design of our kitchen! as our 4 room bto is relatively tiny, we opted for an open concept kitchen to make the space look bigger
π₯ render 1: most aesthetic design, but not practical in terms of space planning.
there's no much countertop space inside the kitchen to place our appliances (rice cooker, air fryer, thermomix, microwave). though we have a huge island, it wouldn't be aesthetically pleasing to put our appliances there. we truly love this render, but eventually made changes to it for practical reaons.
π₯ render 2: we realised a strong hood is required for an open concept kitchen, hence we bought a chimney hood. the trade off is that we canβt have upper cabinetry to conceal the hood since it requires ventilation.
π₯ render 3: we removed the suspended top shelf with laminate backing as it was too expensive for something thatβs purely for aesthetics.
π the drop down pelmet (required for mounting switches) currently looks a little odd as thereβs a break at the hood, so weβre thinking of changing it to a micro cement laminate for a seamless look. we've been having discussions with our ID and carpenter on how to make this space look more seamless, so stay tuned for the final review when our carpentry works are done!
